Public Area Attendant
The Public Area Attendant also known as a Housekeeping Public Area Attendant maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the public spaces within our hotel.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning and Maintenance: Responsible for cleaning and maintaining all public areas of the hotel, including lobbies, corridors, elevators, restrooms, and other common spaces. This involves vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and polishing surfaces to ensure a neat and orderly appearance.
Trash Removal: Empty trash receptacles in public areas and dispose of waste properly. Sort recyclable materials when applicable.
Restroom Care: Clean and sanitize public restrooms regularly throughout the day, ensuring that they are well-stocked with supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
Lobby Maintenance: Keep the lobby area presentable by arranging furniture, cleaning glass surfaces, and ensuring that decorations are tidy.
Special Projects: Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned, such as deep cleaning of carpets, upholstery, or other surfaces.
Reporting Maintenance Issues: Report any maintenance or repair issues observed in public areas to the appropriate department for prompt resolution.
Guest Interaction: Provide friendly and courteous service to guests when encountered in public areas, responding to inquiries and assisting with directions or requests when possible.
Compliance: Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies and procedures to maintain a safe and clean environment for guests and staff.
Qualifications:Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is crucial to ensure that public areas are cleaned thoroughly and maintained to high standards.
Physical Stamina: The job may involve standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods. Physical fitness is important for performing cleaning tasks effectively.
Team Player: Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team. Collaboration with other housekeeping staff and departments is essential.
Customer Service Skills: Although not primarily guest-facing, public area attendants may interact with guests and should possess good communication and customer service skills.
Reliability: Consistency and dependability in attendance and performance are important for this role.
Work Ethic: A strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative in maintaining cleanliness and order in public spaces.
Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules based on hotel occupancy and operational needs.
Previous Experience: Prior experience in a similar role or in the hospitality industry is preferred but not always required. Training is often provided on the job.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Physical demands include standing, walking, and participating in recreational activities.
